84 people are killed every year from exploding maple trees
NPR has a rich history of great April Fools stories. Here's this year's joke on exploding maple trees. My dad heard this on WAMU April 1st and having forgotten which day it was, was almost taken in by it. It's definitely worth the listen, I especially like the song that little kids sing about the exploding trees, and the interview with the Samoan girl.
