Jon's Around the World Adventure!
A friend of mine from my high school cross country team is currently travelling around the world, something I really want to do someday. Anyway, he has some awesome pictures up on his website: Jon's Around the World Adventure! Check them out if you have time, just a warning there are quite a few. But he's got his pictures up through China. I think he might be in Australia now, actually.
Here's one of his pictures from Thailand (I believe) just to wet your appetite:
Update on the spider bite: Day 1 of Steroids, the red streak going up my arm is mostly faded, whew! and the swelling is beginning to go down.

you should take a look at what bit you next time, there is only one kind of mosquito (big, with yellow stripes on its abdomen, legs and possibly thorax -- ok, not on the thorax, i just wanted to say thorax) that is known to carry West Nile Virus in America. As a young healthy individual you stand a pretty good chance of survival, and it doesn't really matter because there is no known cure or treatment for WNV, but it would be nice to be able to tell your friends that you might be dying in the next couple weeks of massive brain hemmorhaging (maybe they will get you presents -- good presents because they know that in about three weeks they will get them back).

Oh good to know! If you can believe it, I've actually met Americas foremost expert on West Nile Virus she was presenting at that meeting I went to in Houston. West Nile Virus meanwhile has hit california this year, so I hear.
